Every serious cake maker need a go-to buttercream frosting recipe. This easy to make buttercream recipe is perfect for piping.
The secret to the perfect consistency for your cake project is the quantity of milk you use. Just add a little at the time, until the buttercream has the consistency you want.
If you are adding food coloring, you may want to make a firmer buttercream by holding back on some of the milk.
One of the things I love the most about this buttercream frosting, is that I can make it in advance and store it. Depending on the climate where you live, it can be stored for up to 3 days at room temperature.
I always prefer storing mine in the fridge. You should be able to store it there for up to a week. If you decide to freeze your buttercream frosting, it should last for about 1 month in the freezer. Just make sure it defrosts at room temperature. Do not use your microwave to defrost it!
So, why not use this foolproof buttercream as your go-to recipe for all your cakes, cupcakes and decorating needs?
To make this buttercream frosting, you will need:
